Nicholas Lordi Sr., Kenilworth resident and former Newark police officer passed away at Center for Hope Hospice, on August 31, 2018. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 5 to 8PM at Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, N.J. Friends and relatives are invited to gather at the funeral home on Thursday from 9-10am. Funeral service will be at 10am at the funeral home with Entombment to follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens in Woodbridge, N.J. Nick was born and raised in Newark, N.J. Soon after graduation from East Side High School, he married his high school sweetheart Mary Jane, who has been at his side for over 60 years. He was a member of the Newark Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 12, the New Jersey Retired Police and Firemen's Association, and a volunteer at the Polish Cultural Foundation Bingo. A Yankee fan for life, Nick was devoted to his family, especially his two grandsons. Nick was predeceased by his parents, Pasquale and Catherine. Surviving are his devoted wife of 61 years, Mary Jane, his sisters Margaret (Rehm) and Angela, his two sons Michael, Nicholas Jr. and his wife Cynthia, his two grandsons Timothy, Nicholas III and his wife Dorianna, and his two great granddaughters Nyla and Clementine.
