Obituary for Alex M. Mikos

Alex M.  Mikos
Alex M. Mikos, 78, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral service in the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Avenue, Roselle Park, N.J. on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 10 am. Interment will take place at St. Gertrude’s in Colonia, N.J. at 11am.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday November 9, 2017 from 5 to 8 pm.
Alex was born in Jersey City, N.J., raised in Clark N.J. and resided in Roselle Park N.J. for 42 years before moving to Little Egg Harbor Township N.J, 17 years ago.
Alex was predeceased by his beloved parents, Alexander and Elizabeth (nee: Hudak), his brother Charles Mikos and his cherished grandson, Michael Jon Wielgus II.
Alex proudly served in the United States Coast Guard aboard an ice breaker and enjoyed reunions with his fellow ship mates.
Alex worked for IBEW 675 Elizabeth, N.J. for 42 years before his retirement.
He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Catherine Ann. His five children, Cheryl Jiosi and her husband David, Alex Michael Mikos, Jr., Barbara Mikos, Jamie Amato and her husband John, and Lisa Wielgus and her husband Michael. In addition, his adored grandchildren, Jacqueline, Lindsay, Olivia, and John Thomas. As well as his two great grandsons, Damian and Alexander. Alex is also survived by his sister, Gloria Olszewski.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, golfing and reading. He was an avid New York Giants and New York Mets fan.
