Obituary for Eugene A. Maglietta


Eugene A. Maglietta, 95, of Roselle Park, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 19, 2016.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited the Funeral Services on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 11am in the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park. Please be at the funeral home 10am.
Visitation will be Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm.
Born in New York City, NY, Eugene lived in Cranford, NJ, before settling to Roselle Park, NJ 83 years ago.
He was a foreman/manager for Alcan Aluminum in Edison for many years, retiring in 1986. After his retirement Eugene was a crossing guard for the Roselle Park Police Department on the corner of Locust and W. Webster.
He served his country in the U. S. Army Air Force during WWII, in the battles of European Theatre, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, Central Europe, and Normandy.
Eugene was a member of the Kenilworth Veteran’s Center VFW Post 2230.
He is predeceased by his parents George and Rachel (Quin) Maglietta; two brothers William Eckelmann and George H. Maglietta.
Eugene is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Lois (McMahon); three loving children Jeffrey and his wife Carolyn, Stephanie Jean, and Steven Maglietta; four adored grandchildren Jamie and her husband Curt, Kristina, Lindsey, and Erin; and two cherished great-grandchildren Alana and Reece; two dear nieces Janice Williamson and her husband Wayne and Barbara McCaslin and her husband Walter.
