Obituary for Bernard Held
Bernard Held, 80, of Roselle Park, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at home.
Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 8:45am. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park at 10am. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Thursday.
Cremation is private.
Born in Newark, Bernard was raised in Irvington before settling to Roselle Park 46 years ago.
He was a machine mechanic for Schering Plough in Kenilworth for 50 years, before retiring 12 years ago.
Bernard served his country during the Korean War in the United States Air Force.
He was an honorary life member of the N. R. A. in Washington, DC.
Surviving is his wife of 22 years Adelina (Sanchez) Held, step son Gerhard Sanchez and his wife Alison, brother Hans Held, sister Eleanore Lukacs, and two grandchildren Claire and Thomas.
