Obituary for Walter O'Connell Jr.
Walter O’Connell, Jr., 72, of Brick, formerly of Roselle Park, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 23, 2019.
Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 8:45am. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park at 10am. Cemetery is Private.
Visitation will be on Wednesday 4 to 8pm.
Born and raised in Jersey City, Walter lived in Roselle Park from 1974 to 2005, then Seaside Park before settling to Brick two years ago.
He was entrepreneur for USA Fulfillment in Jersey City for 10 years retiring in 2005, prior to that he worked for Merrill Lynch in New York City for 25 years.
Walter met his high School sweetheart and later married her and have been happily married for 49 years.
He is a graduate of St. Peter’s College in Jersey City, receiving his bachelor’s degree in business.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 49 years, Linda (nee: Piezzo) O’Connell, three loving sons, Michael O’Connell, Daniel O’Connell and his wife Jamie, and Patrick O’Connell and his wife Stacie, two dear sisters, Helyn Ganopoulos, and Debbie Boyle, and four adored grandchildren, Jacob, Madison, Samantha, and Brady.
