Albert A. Neuhaus, 100, of Point Pleasant Beach, died peacefully on the morning of June 1, 2019. Born and raised in Newark to his late parents, Herbert and Agnes (Barnosky) Neuhaus and his three brothers, Herbert, Charles and Edward, whom have predeceased him.
Albert worked as a Tool & Die Maker for the Picatinny Arsenal until he joined the Navy and served his country as an Aircraft mechanic during World War II while stationed in Bermuda. After his service to his country, he worked at Englehard Corporation in Newark where he met his beautiful wife of 73 years, Grace M. Alfano. She passed this February which made his life empty. Albert and Grace lived in Newark, Clark and Pt. Pleasant Beach. Their final days together were spent at Chelsea Assisted Living at Brick. Albert also worked as a Tool & Die Maker for American Can Company. In his retirement, he worked as a School Crossing Guard for Pt. Pleasant Board of Education.
Albert was a kind and gentle man, yet very strong and extremely organized. He was creative, intelligent, independent, and he loved going out fishing on his boat. He will be missed by his close nieces and nephews that have visited and cared for him and his wife over the past few years.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 11am in St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Rd., Bayville, NJ 08721. Burial will immediately follow to Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. Mastapeter Funeral Home in Bayville is in charge of arrangements. www.mastapeterfuneralhome.com
