Obituary for Eugene Lasuen
Eugene Lasuen, 86, passed away peacefully at home in Kenilworth on Saturday, June 1, 2019.
Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 9am. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Theresa R. C. Church in Kenilworth at 10:30am. Entombment is at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth.
Visitation will be 3 to 7pm on Tuesday.
Born in Vizcaya, Spain, Gene came to the United States at the age of 20 and was always proud to be an American. He settled to Newark and married Josephine (nee: Castro) and was a resident of Kenilworth for 47 years.
Gene worked for many years as an operations engineer in South Kearny, South Amboy and Perth Amboy.
He enjoyed time with his family at their house on Long Beach Island.
Gene was deeply loved by his family and all who knew him. He was always ready with his generous smile and friendly good nature and a helping hand.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Josephine (nee: Castro) Lasuen; loving daughters, Elisa Cancillieri and her husband Joseph, and Cynthia Lasuen-Petruccelli and her husband Steve; four cherished grandchildren, Joseph Cancillieri and his wife Adrianne, Melissa Sanseverino and her husband Joseph, John Petruccelli and his wife Michelle, and Genevieve Petruccelli; six adored great-grandchildren, Christian, Cecilia, Macayla, Juliette, Tyler, and Vincent; a dear brother John and a dear sister Benigna; and his extended family in Idaho and Spain.
