Obituary for Sharon R Poth

Sharon Renea Poth

Sharon Renea Poth. Also known as Smush, Thelma, and Mom. Sadly passed away on Saturday April 27th, 2019 at the age of 57 while residing in Kenilworth, NJ.

Sharon was born to Maxie Ray and Isiah Rose on April 22nd, 1962 in Newport News, Virginia. Loving sister to six siblings: Timmy, Richard jr., Michael, Christal, Daionne, and Darrell. Nurturing wife to her husband of nearly 20 years, Robert Poth, who married on May 30th, 1999 with a lovely celebration at the Pantagis Renaissance surrounded by the ones they loved.

Sharon was last employed as a crew member at the Trader Joe’s grocery store of Westfield and formerly as a senior tool room attendant at Federal Express of Newark Liberty International Airport, where she created numerous bonds and friendships. Sharon also enjoyed volunteering her time to assist those who were less fortunate and struggling with illness. Sharon was always a very giving person who enjoyed providing for others. Her cooking skills were greatly appreciated by anyone and everyone who came in contact with her.

Sharon was survived by her adoring husband Bob and stepson Robert, as well as his wife Alicia. She is also survived by parents Maxie Ray Rose and Juanita Peoples, several nieces, nephews and cousins, her extended family at Trader Joe’s and at FedEx, as well as all the people who cared for her at the American legion post #470 in Kenilworth.

Viewing arrangements are set at Mastapeter Funeral Home on Thursday May 2nd, 2019 between the hours of 4:00pm – 7:00pm. Service at 6:00pm. With a small intimate gathering at the American Legion Post#470 located at 238 North 14th street, Kenilworth, NJ afterwards.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to a GoFundMe page www.gofundme.com, in-memory-of-sharon-poth where all funds will be spread amongst charity organizations that were dear to her, and will be donated in her memory.
