William “Bill” Wright, 84, of Bayville, died on February 10, 2019 at home, with his loving family at his bedside. Bill was born, raised and was a life long resident of Bayville. He was co-owner of H.I. Wright & Sons Plumbing and Heating Company of Bayville which operated for over 57 years. He proudly served his country, first in the National Guard then enlisted in the US Army. He served with the 644th Tank Battalion over 9 years and was awarded Expert Pistol Marksman. He also served his community as a Fireman with Fire Station No. 17 of Berkeley Township and over 35 years as a life member of the Bayville First Aid Squad. He was a devoted family man and if he wasn’t home or working, you would find him on the beach surf fishing.
Surviving are; his wife Julia of 64 years; three sons, William Wright Jr., John Wright and his wife MaryBeth and Gary Wright and his wife Greta; six grandchildren, Melanie, Brian, Ashley, Sean, Brittany and Tyler and his great granddaughter Julianna.
Visiting hours will be Thursday, Feb. 14th, from 4pm to 7pm, with a Prayer Service at 6:30pm, in the Mastapeter Funeral Home, Bayville. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory to: Holy Redeemer Hospice, (holyredeemer.com/donatenow) would be appreciated.
