Patrick J. Clinton, 84, of Bayville, NJ passed away at home on January 2, 2019. He was Born in Bronx, NY, lived many years in New City, NY before settling to Bayville, NJ. Patrick proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was employed with the New York City Fire Department for 22 years before retiring and went on to work various other jobs.

A multitude of adjectives can be used to describe Patrick; a one of a kind man. Most people would describe him as generous, athletic, loving and as a sports fanatic. Those who were blessed to know him intimately would also include, a devout catholic, brave, heroic, honest, trustworthy, patriotic and proud. Patrick kept the love for his wife, Barbara, and all his family members first in his heart. He taught his children and grandchildren to love, work hard and be grateful for the simple pleasures in life. He could find a great deal of happiness by doing things that others might consider ordinary. Patrick was content reading a newspaper, attending a ball game, watching sports on television as well as enjoying a meal, a drink and a strawberry parfait. His natural wit and unique use of the English language will keep our heavenly family entertained as he did for us on earth. Deepest love and wonderful memories will guide us through until we meet again.

Mr. Clinton is survived by his beloved wife Barbara Clinton; his 5 children Patricia Wojcicki and husband Peter, Laurie McIvor husband William, Robert Clinton and wife Eileen, Peter Clinton and wife Maria, Barbara Ann Reimer and husband Sean; his 11 grandchildren Meghan, Kaitlyn, Rebecca, William, Kylie, Robert, Veronica, Holly, Sophia, Max and Tangy; 3 great grandchildren Jayde, Owen and Gavin; and his 2 sisters Susan Johnson and husband William and Cathy Clinton.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 11:00am at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Road, Bayville, NJ 08721. Mastapeter Funeral Home in Bayville will be overseeing the arrangements.

I was afraid of him when I was younger. He wasn’t a big fan of long haired hippies! I kept my distance until I got older! He was a good man, husband and father, that was obvious to all of us in the neighborhood. My condolences to Barbara and family. Sorry I couldn’t be there with you.

To all the Clinton Family, My Deepest condolences on the passing of Pat, my father was not only a co-worker with Pat on the FDNY he was also a family friend to my father, Larry and my mother, Dot. I also worked shortly with Pat before his retirement but knew him thru many Fire house functions as I was growing up. May he rest in peace. Larry Brigati
