He served in the South Pacific theater on flight crews being discharged from the USS Shangri La in 1946. Upon his return from the Navy he would go on to pitch in the Philadelphia Industrial League with an undefeated record.

His love of the game led him to coach Little League in Bucks County, PA in the ‘60s. He mentored and develop players who went on to play organized baseball.

His love of the water and boating brought Charles to relocate his family to Toms River in 1969. A survivor of cancer and later hurricane Sandy. He never did get to go home.

Charles was a Licensed Professional Engineer in State of NJ and was the owner and operator of Engineering & Design Services of Toms River for many years before retiring in 2005. One of the many projects he worked on was the Taj Majal Casino in Atlantic City NJ.

He was a member of the Vespers Club in Philadelphia and a proud member of the Toms River VFW Post 6063.
