Condolence From: Jack Lyle
Condolence: Sorry for the loss of Mr Black. Our thoughts & prayers are with you and your family. He was a GREAT man. He did a fantastic job keeping his Scouts in line. Many memories of camping up in Camp Winnebago. How he survived some of those trips still amazes me. Played a lot of basketball in the driveway. There were some pretty ugly games but we all had fun. RIP Mr Black 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Condolence: Dear John, Maryann, and Family,
Love and prayers for you as you go through the services today for Uncle Gil. He was an honorable man and a good uncle to us. He made sure Aunt Varian was here for all the important events, he was not only here, but he always jumped in and helped and added a little humor! We remember how tightly Uncle Gil packed the big ole boy scout bag with clothes, shoes, and coats that Aunt Varian had picked out for us from her church rummage sale. (Mom would give her our sizes.) Your family was a big part of our childhood. Mom and Aunt Varian were close and Uncle Gil was a good husband and brother-in-law; he saw to it that they got to see each other. We loved him.
Love and prayers from your Pennsylvania family,
Aunt Doris, Jeanie & Ed, Carolyn & Denny

Condolence: We had a wonderful grandfather,
One who never really grew old;
His smile was made of sunshine,
And his heart was solid gold;
His eyes were as bright as shining stars,
And in his cheeks fair roses you see.
We had a wonderful grandfather,
And that’s the way it will always be.
But take heed, because
He’s still keeping an eye on all of us,
So let’s make sure
He will like what he sees.

Condolence: Dear Gil, I will always remember you for your humor,your warmth,faith ,trust ,and caring ,love for us and people all around you. I enjoyed our “special breakfasts “when I would visit and fondly recall you calling me your daughter when people asked who I was. I enjoyed taking you on “convertible top down”rides to ocean grove stores and to get “apricot juice”you showing me how to use the express checkout when we got all your items.You were a great sport getting dressed up in whatever I brought to you for fun [a man after my own ❤️ ]. We had a long unique journey full of fun ,love ,ups and downs but mostly a life filled with love of family and country.RIP Gil say Hi to the gang in Heaven. love Maryann

Condolence: Grandpa Gil (or "Old Grandpa") as the girls called him) was a great guy. We loved hearing his epic stories from his days in "the service". Among the great memories we have include his amazing Easter scavenger hunts, his perfectly organized and labeled everything, his carpentry and building skills, and his patience. RIP Grandpa. We will keep your memory in our hearts and continue your story telling. xoxo
