Born and raised in Roselle Park, she was a resident of Short Hills for many years, before returning to her hometown. She retired to Barnegat with her husband in 2014.
Darla was a graduate of Roselle Park High School. She worked as a hairdresser and crossing guard, but her passion was her family.
She is predeceased by her mother; caring Alberta “Betty” (nee: Riccitelli) Costanzo and a dear sister Cheryl Ann.
Darla is survived by her beloved husband of 31 years Karl Kielbasa; two loving daughters Cindi Mago and her husband Michael, and Nicole Gacsi and her husband Michael; four adored grandchildren Gabriella, Vincent, AJ, and Jake; caring father Joseph Costanzo; a dear sister Diana Martin and a brother-in-law Daniel; a dear brother Albert Costanzo, along with many more extended family.
Darla Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a true “Jersey Girl”, loved the beach, crabbing, cooking, and spending time with her family. She was the most selfless person with a huge heart and will be missed beyond words.
In the words of one of her favorite songs “If I leave here tomorrow, would you still remember me? For I must be traveling on now cause there’s too many places I’ve got to see”.
