Beautiful Mother and Cherished Aunt

Frances Dolores Garfall (nee Calabro), 100 of Elizabeth, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 27, 2017.
Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 8:45am. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Church of the Assumption, Roselle Park at 10am. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, NJ.
Visitation is 4 to 8pm on Tuesday.
Frances was born in Elizabeth NJ, and grew up in homes built by her father’s company Joseph Calabro's Construction Co. She graduated Battin High school in 1935 and studied Library Science working in the Elizabeth Public Library system. In 1943, Frances married Joseph Garfall, then in the U.S. Navy. They lived in Virginia from 1943 to 1945 where she worked as a switchboard operator on the U.S. Naval Air Station, Oceana. After Joseph served in the Navy, the family settled to Elizabeth, NJ.
Frances worked at Standard Oil Co. and Grand Building Supply.
Frances enjoyed playing piano, reading, sewing, antiquing, and was an avid cook and homemaker to her loving family.
Frances was predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, Joseph Garfall, her loving parents Anna and Joseph Calabro, and her 6 siblings: Lawrence, Grace (Tomasulo), Charles, Joseph Jr, Adeline (Turtur), and Lucille (Bassillo).
Frances is survived by her loving son Joseph and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. The family celebrated Frances' 100th Birthday in August of this year.
