Obituary for Mariano DiFabio

Mariano DiFabio, 84, of Roselle Park, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 6, 2017.
Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 9am. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park at 10am. Interment will follow to Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
Visitation will be 4 to 8pm on Wednesday.
Born in Monteferrante, Italy, Mariano came to the United States in 1966 with his loving family to Roselle Park, NJ.
He was an executive chef for Schering-Plough in Union and Kenilworth, retiring 12 years ago, prior to that he was a chef at Raymond’s in Westfield and Marisa’s Restaurant in Cranford and Conca D’Oro in Plainfield.
Mariano trained as a chef in Rome, Italy.
He was a member of Fr. McViegh Council 4186 Knights of Columbus in Kenilworth, also serving in the Italian Army.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 58 years Maria (nee: Berardinelli) DiFabio, two loving children John DiFabio and Francesca Martucci and her husband Pasquale, two adored grandchildren Gabriella and Joseph, and four dear brothers Antonio, Gennaro, Nicola, and Luigi DiFabio.
In lieu of flowers please make donations in Mariano’s memory to Church of the Assumption, 113 Chiego Place, Roselle Park, NJ, 07204.
