Mary Sciscione,
Loving and devoted mother and grandmother whose unique sense of humor hallmarked her vibrant personality.


Mary (nee: Caruso) Sciscione, 91 of Kenilworth, NJ passed away at home surrounded by her cherished family on Monday July 3, 2017. Funeral is from Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave. Roselle Park on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 8:30 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow at St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church at 10AM. Interment will be at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.
Visitation will be on Sunday 4 to 8pm.

Born in Elizabeth, NJ, Mary lived in Kenilworth for 51 years. She worked in the cafeteria at David Brearley High School in Kenilworth as a cashier for 20 years before retiring in 1993. Mary was previously employed by the Union County Trust Company and held the distinction of being the first drive-thru teller in the state of New Jersey. Mary, a crossword puzzle aficionado, enjoyed all genres of music. She was an avid reader and her grandchildren were the love of her life.

She is predeceased by her devoted husband of 68 years, Biagio Sciscione, her loving parents, Rose and Nicola Caruso, a cherished grandson, Keith Mellon-Butler and her dear brothers and sisters; Frank and Nick Caruso, Julia Lamonda, Theresa LaGuardia, and Helen Caponetti.

Mary is survived by her three loving children, William P. Sciscione and his wife Jeannine, Jane M. Butler and her husband Darryl, and Judy DeFilippo and her husband Victor; eight cherished grandchildren, Melissa, Michael, Michele, Savannah, Santino, Pamela, Jackie and Victor; two adored great grandchildren, Joey and Mila; one dear sister, Gloria DiMaggio, many nieces and nephews and her loving caregiver for three years, Natia Pallante.
