Evelyn Marranca

Beloved mother of four children, 91


Evelyn Marranca, who was born on March 24, 1925, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 19, 2016. She was 91. Originally from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, she graduated high school there in the Class of 1943, before moving to Roselle Park, New Jersey. She was married to Angelo J. Marranca, for sixty-four years, until his death in 2010, and had lived in Roselle since 1951. He had owned Safe-Way Insulators Home Improvement Company, in Roselle Park, for forty years. Evelyn Marranca is a beloved mother who leaves behind four children: a daughter, Bonnie, and three sons, Vincent, Michael, and Richard, and a granddaughter Inanna and her mother Renah. She had two sisters, Olga Mirabelli and Gloria Vaccarino, and a brother, Armand Mirabelli, all who predeceased her. In 1988, she earned an Associates Degree at Union County College, where she had worked in the counseling department for almost twenty years. Throughout her life, Evelyn Marranca enjoyed making photo albums and editing old films, as well as music, dance, documentaries, historic sites, and her travels in European cities. She was a wonderful woman loved by her family and many friends for her generosity of spirit and kind-heartedness. She loved her home and being a Mother. A memorial gathering will take place on Tuesday, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 11:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Joseph the Carpenter, located at the corner of East Third Avenue and Walnut Street in Roselle, NJ. Interment of cremains will follow to St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.
