Obituary for Rosaria Toscano (Centrullo)

Rosaria Toscano, (nee: Centrullo), 72, of Roselle, NJ, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2015, surrounded by her loving children.
Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 8:15am. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park at 9:30am. Entombment will follow to St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm on Wednesday, July 29.
Born in Cassano delle Murge, Bari, Italy, Rosaria was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Isabella (Massaro) Centrullo. She met and married her love Vincenzo, in Italy in 1972. She courageously left her family in 1973 with her new husband to come to the United States, where they then settled in Roselle, NJ to begin a new life and start a family of their own.
Rosaria was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker for 19 years before starting a part-time job as a bakery clerk for Pathmark in 1991. She worked her way up to becoming a full-time bakery manager before retiring in 2010. She then eagerly took on the new role of devoted “Nonna” to her first grandchild, Joseph. She helped raise him until he was 3, and then excitedly welcomed and helped raise her second grandchild, Giovanni, in 2013. She truly cherished all of her time with them and her family, especially her Sunday dinners. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Rosaria was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Vincenzo Toscano, in 2013, and her six siblings from Italy, Antonietta, Anna, Maria, Palmina, Rocco, and Domenico.
She is survived by her loving children, Enza Toscano, Michael Toscano, and Rosa Scipioni and her husband, Joe; her two beloved grandsons, as well as many dear nieces and nephews throughout Italy, Canada, and the United States.
