Obituary for Constance E. Jakub (Rossnagel)

Constance E. Jakub, (nee: Rossnagel), 85, of Kenilworth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2015
Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 9am. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Theresa R. C. Church in Kenilworth at 10am. Interment will follow to Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.
Visitation is 1 to 4pm on Sunday.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Miriam and Eugene Rossnagel, Constance moved to Kenilworth in 1941.
She was a receptionist for Heyco Mfg. Co. in Kenilworth 9 years, retiring in 1992, prior to that she was a secretary to the director at the Kenilworth Library.
Constance was a 1947 graduate of Jonathan Dayton High School in Springfield.
She was a dedicated member of the Kenilworth Historical Society, Kenilworth Senior Citizens, Friends of Kenilworth Public Library, Democratic Social Club which she enjoyed political debates and her trips to Atlantic City with the Senior Citizens and Democratic Club.
She was an outstanding proud citizen of Kenilworth and everyone knew her as one of the longest residing citizens and was very proud to be a hand model.
A parishioner of St. Theresa’s Church, Constance served as Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of America, and Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus #4186.
She enjoyed traveling the world with her late husband Joseph, looking up at the clouds, beauty of butterflies, going to the movies.
We rejoice that she is in heaven and will miss her dearly and know we will meet her again.
The last surviving Jakub of her generation she is predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph Jakub and son-in-law James Kennek.
Surviving is a loving daughter Julia E. Kennek; two adored grandchildren that she had a special bond with Jesse and Jaclyn and her husband Daniel and a step great-grandson Lucas; dear cousin Bette Hartley; faithful feline companion Mr. Jake; and many nieces and nephews.
She was known by her grandchildren as “The Gamintor”, short for Gammy.
