Obituary for James C. Kompany

James C. Kompany, 74, of Roselle Park, passed away at home on Sunday, October 5, 2014, after a brief illness surrounded by his wife Margaret and three children Karen, Rosanne and James.
Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, on Thursday, October 9, 2014, at 8:30am. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Church of The Assumption in Roselle Park at 10am. Interment is at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth. Visitation is 6 to 9pm on Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm on Wednesday.
Born in Elizabeth on January 4, 1940, James moved to Roselle Park in 1954 into the house his father built.
He graduated from Roselle Park High School in 1958. After graduation, he served seven years in the United States Army National Guard. During that time he attended Park Beauty School of Cosmetology where he met his wife Margaret.
In 1969, James became a most respected and admired Roselle Park Police Officer where he served in the patrol and investigation division. He received numerous accolades during his 27 year career.
James was very proud to give his services to the community and people of Roselle Park. He retired from the police force in 1996.
Most of his time was spent in his Pocono house with his wife and children and later with his grandchildren. James enjoyed the outdoors and peaceful serenity his home gave him.
James and Margaret shared a loving and long lasting marriage. Although they traveled to Italy, Las Vegas, New Orleans, and the Caribbean. Atlantic City was their favorite destination.
James leaves behind his beloved wife of 53f years Margaret (Charney) Kompany, three loving children and their spouses Karen Marti and her husband Vincent; Rosanne Rutman and her husband Todd; and James Kompany and his wife Laura; six adored grandchildren Brianna, Vincent, Steven, Nicole, Lauren, and Luciana. Also surviving is a dear brother Frank Kompany.
