Obituary for John D. Duffy
John D Duffy, 69, of Union, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2014 in the Cornell Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Union.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services on Monday, July 21, 2014 in the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park at 8pm.
Visitation is 7 to 9pm on Monday.
Born and raised in Summit, Mr. Duffy moved to Kenilworth in 1995 and has lived in Union for the past fifteen years.
Mr. Duffy was a graduate of Summit High school and the Eastern School for Physicians’ Aides in NYC, graduating in 1964.
He was a postal worker for the town of Summit and later worked as a phlebotomist for the Sandoz Pharmaceutical Company, East Hanover.
He is predeceased by his parents John L and Josephine (nee Cochario) Duffy.
Surviving are his two dear sisters, Patricia Ponzio and her husband Nicholas and Clare Jane Vardalis, four nieces and nephews and three great nieces and nephews
His intellect, caring nature and great wit will be missed by all.
Remembrances in memory of John D Duffy can be made to St. Judes’s Children’s Research Hospital, (st.jude.org), PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN, 38148.
